Privacy Policy

CrewSense AI ("CrewSense", "we", "us", or "our") operates the CrewSense mobile application and web platform (together, the "Service") — a construction and crew management platform for contractors, site teams, and their clients. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Profile Information

When you or your organization sign up, we collect:

• Name, email address, and phone number
• Password (stored as an irreversible hash — we never store your plain-text password)
• Company/organization details: business name, GSTIN, address, and district/state
• Profile photo and company logo, if you choose to upload one

1.2 Location Information

With your permission, the app uses location data to pin a project's site location on a map and to power district/state-based directory search (e.g. finding nearby manpower suppliers or material vendors). Location is only collected when you actively use these features — we do not track your location in the background.

1.3 Photos & Files

The app requests camera and photo-library access so you can attach photos to task progress updates, expense receipts, project showcase galleries, and profile/company logos. Files you upload are stored securely in our cloud storage and are only accessible to authorized members of your organization (and, where a project is shared with them, that project's client).

1.4 Work & Project Data

To provide the Service, we store the data you and your team enter: projects, tasks and their progress, attendance and work-hour records, salary disbursements, expenses and petty cash entries, procurement orders, and project payments. This data belongs to your organization and is used to power the dashboards, reports, and history views inside the app.

1.5 Payment Information

Subscription payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank account details on our servers — Razorpay handles payment collection directly and shares only the transaction status and reference ID with us, which we use to activate or renew your subscription.

1.6 Device & Usage Information

To keep your account secure and support features like device-based session management, we collect a device identifier, device type and name, platform (e.g. Android), IP address, and general session activity (login time, last active time). If you enable push notifications, we store a notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging) to deliver alerts about tasks, approvals, and reminders relevant to you.

1.7 Biometric Login

If you enable fingerprint or face unlock for faster sign-in, your biometric data is processed entirely on your device by the operating system. CrewSense never receives, transmits, or stores your fingerprint or facial data — the app only stores your encrypted login credentials locally, which your device's biometric hardware unlocks on your behalf.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and your organization's workspace
• To provide the core features of the Service: project and task tracking, attendance, finance, procurement, and team communication
• To connect clients with the site admin or senior engineer assigned to their project
• To process subscription payments and send billing-related notifications
• To send push notifications and in-app alerts you've opted into
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or security incidents
• To improve the reliability and performance of the Service

3. Who Can See Your Data

Work data (projects, tasks, attendance, finance records) is only visible to members of your organization according to their role, and — where explicitly shared — to the client associated with a specific project. We do not sell your personal data or your organization's data to third parties.

We share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the Service:

• Razorpay — payment processing for subscriptions
• Google Cloud Platform — application hosting, database, and file storage
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — push notification delivery

These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide their service to us, and not for their own independent purposes.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and work data for as long as your organization's account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. You may request deletion of your account at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all traffic, hashed password storage, and access controls that scope every request to your organization and role. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to continuously improve our safeguards.

6. Your Rights

You can, at any time:

• Access and update your profile information from within the app
• Ask your organization's admin to correct or remove work records
• Request a copy of your personal data
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to any data we're legally required to retain

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use by adults working in the construction industry. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 years of age.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
