A Daily Progress Report is only useful if it is filed every day. It stops being filed when it takes half an hour of typing at the end of a long site day, so CrewSense assembles it from records that already exist.
Attendance included
Present count, attendance percentage and a breakdown by skill, taken from the attendance marked that morning for staff and contractor labour.
Materials consumed
Today's material usage log, summed per material, so consumption is reported against the work it went into.
Site photos attached
Task-completion photos uploaded during the day are attached to the report, and any that should not go to the client can be deselected.

Generate
Open the day and tap Generate. Work done, attendance, materials and photos are assembled from the day's records.

Tap the weather. Add issues or a site note if there were any. Deselect any photo that should not be shared.

The report reaches the project's admin or senior engineer in the Approvals tab, with everything attached.

Approval generates the PDF. Rejection requires a written reason and the day can be regenerated and resubmitted.

Share the PDF with the client or head office. Clients also see approved reports in their own portal — without the internal review notes.
Why the DPR matters more than it looks
The Daily Progress Report is the smallest document in construction and the one that decides the largest arguments. When a project runs late, the question is always which days were lost and why — and the answer is either a run of dated reports naming the weather, the labour on site and the work completed, or it is nothing.
That is why weather is a required field and why approval is a separate step. A report that anyone can edit after the fact settles nothing; a report that was submitted on the day, approved by a named engineer and issued as a PDF is evidence.
It is also the cheapest client communication available. A client who receives an approved report each day stops asking for status updates, and stops assuming the worst when the site is quiet for a week.

Common questions
What is a Daily Progress Report in construction?
A DPR is a dated record of one day on site: the work completed, the labour present, the materials consumed, the weather, and any issues encountered. It is the primary evidence for progress claims, delay analysis and client reporting.
How long does it take to file a DPR in CrewSense?
Usually a couple of minutes. Work done, attendance, materials and photos are assembled from what was already recorded during the day. The site engineer taps the weather, optionally adds issues or a note, and sends it for approval.
Who approves a Daily Progress Report?
An admin or the project's senior engineer, from the Approvals tab. They can approve it or reject it with a written reason; a rejected day can be regenerated and resubmitted. Only approved reports produce a PDF.
Can the client see the Daily Progress Report?
Clients see approved reports only, in their own portal, without internal review notes. Reports awaiting approval or rejected are never visible to them.
Can I share the DPR as a PDF on WhatsApp or email?
Yes. Once approved, the report is generated as a PDF carrying your company logo, name, GSTIN and project details, and can be shared anywhere you already send documents.
Can two reports be filed for the same day?
No — a second submission for the same day is blocked, which keeps the record unambiguous. If a day was rejected, it can be regenerated and sent again.
